About the event

Yarn painting is one of the easiest ways to put natural color on yarn. The color choices are endless and the way that color moves through the skein is fascinating and beautiful! Learn to paint your own skeins of yarn using natural dye extracts.

Each participant receives two skeins of organic, 3-ply sport weight US-spun yarn. The total yardage is about 320 yards, which is enough for a small project. You will learn to mix natural dye extracts, and then paint and steam set your skeins. We will work with the historical colors of madder, cochineal, logwood, weld, cutch and other dyes to create flowing, variegated patterns. Each skein will be a marvelous surprise!

Please bring a lunch.
